By way of referral from Shannon at Jays Wicked Sauces, Mik from Better Life Whole Foods reached out about quickly building a new website that can grow their brand.

The hope is to eventually offer an ecommerce experience for customers to purchase online and pickup in-store. This required close integration between their point-of-sale system, and their future website.

Old Website

The previous website was not mobile friendly and contained dozens of pages that did not receive any traffic. The challenge was trying to decide which URLs to bring into the new website, which ones to redirect, and which ones to completely drop and eventually 404.

Their new website had to be fast, mobile friendly, and integrate well with their POS system. Unfortunately, the transition from one owner to the next with Lightspeed’s POS, did not go well. That’s where we partnered with Pay Lynx to get their POS issues solved.

Point-Of-Sale for Grocery

Working with Pay Lynx, Mik chose Ovvi as the new POS system for the store. The benefit to using a modern POS system like Ovvi is that it integrates all the core functions a small grocery store needs.

  • Employee Management
  • Returns
  • Food Stamps and WIC
  • Inventory Management
  • Order Process
  • Online Ordering

You can see a complete demo of Ovvi in the video below.

Problems Solved

Transitioning the store to a new owner came with all kinds of challenges. From transferring ownership of domain names, email accounts, and accounting systems, to dealing with merchant services who would not honor previous contracts. These were all problems that needed solving.

Fortunately we were able to help Mik transition some of the technology to his ownership. This included getting a new website up and running for him in just a few days, and making sure his analytics accounts were setup and working.

Today, Better Life Whole Foods is making progress on the new POS and getting ready to bring new growth opportunities using the marketing technology they now have.
