Plan, Produce, Promote
Every essential in this handbook gets built the same way. I call it the 3 Ps, and the reason it works is that most business owners skip one of them and then wonder why nothing happened.
1. Plan
This is your secret laboratory. No shame here, and room for every bad idea. Decide who you are talking to, what problem you are solving, and what you want the person to do. Ten minutes of planning saves ten hours of producing the wrong thing.
2. Produce
Build it. Write the page, take the photos, record the video, claim the profile. The rule here has not changed in five years and it is the most important sentence in this handbook: do not let perfection prevent progress. An imperfect thing that exists beats a perfect thing that does not.
3. Promote
Tell people. This is the P that gets skipped, every time. You built a beautiful website and then let it sit there hoping someone trips over it. Promotion is not a task you finish. It is a habit you keep.
If you build a website and never promote it, you get no traffic. If you claim a Google Business Profile and never post to it, it goes stale and stops showing. Skip a P and you waste the other two.
Where AI fits
AI is very good at Produce and pretty good at Plan. It is terrible at Promote, because Promote requires showing up as a human being in a real place. Use the machine for the first two and save your energy for the third. That is the highest-return trade available to a small business owner right now.
